In partnership with PAWS Chicago, the River North Design District of Chicago, or RNDD, will host the River North Pup Crawl & Cat Walk on April 1, 2022. From 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. CT, an auction of pet items created by nine different designers will be on display throughout the nine showrooms participating in the walk. Guests of the event can bid on the various dog beds, pet clothes, cat condos, and other unique items for their furry friends, with 100 percent of the auction proceeds benefitting PAWS Chicago. PAWS Chicago will also have animals available for adoption inside the event spaces.
Committed to bringing an end to the killing of homeless cats and dogs, PAWS Chicago is Chicago’s largest no-kill animal shelter, and one of the largest in the nation. Since its founding in 1997, PAWS has led the reduction of the number of homeless pets killed in the city by more than 91 percent, by finding homes for approximately 5,000 cats and dogs a year through their adoption centers.
RNDD collaborated with PAWS Chicago and the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers as well as a number of other partners for the event, with participants featuring: Oscar Isberian and Studio 6f with Cambria and Beckerworks Ltd.; bulthaup and Jessica Lagrange Interiors with Terrazzo & Marble Supply Companies; eggersmann and M Viamontes Architects; Studio41 and Ilene Chase Design with Brizo and Delta Chicago; TOTO and VF Interiors with Kichler; Roca Tile and Jasmin Reese Interiors with JC Licht and Benjamin Moore; Kohler Signature Store by Studio41 and Elisa Paramo Interiors; Samuel Lynne Galleries of Chicago and Centaur Interiors; and The Luxury Bed Collection and Stone Textile Studio by Elizabeth Mollen.
Tickets are available for $35 per person and guests will be required to comply with RNDD COVID-19 protocol and wear wrist bands. Each showroom taking part in the Pup Crawl & Cat Walk will feature a signature cocktail for guests to try, as well as libations courtesy of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and special beer pairings courtesy of Anheuser-Busch, including the on-theme Wolf Pup Session IPA.
Founded in 2013, the River North Design District is a local community that boasts interior design offerings accessible to both designers and consumers. Showrooms are all located on street-level and in walking distance of one another, so customers can stroll through the neighborhood, shopping the lighting, tile, plumbing, rugs, kitchens, furnishings, and other one-of-a-kind products to decorate one’s space exactly how they envision. Recently, RNDD hosted its 6th annual RNDD Fall Gallery Walk in September 2021 presented by Daniel Kinkade Fine Art featuring designer vignettes and artists in a celebration of the pocket design community and philanthropic partner Digs with Dignity.
